‘Bangabandhu on Celluloid’ ends

The three-day film festival titled ‘Celluloid E Bangabandhu’ ended with the screening of short films, documentaries and full-length films about the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Thursday.

The festival, organised by the Bangladesh International Film Movement and planned and managed by SS Communication, was held at Bangladesh Film Archive Auditorium in Agargaon.

The film festival featured 17 films on Bangabandhu including ‘Tungi Parar Mia Bhai’, ‘Ekjon Mohan Pita’ and ‘Chironjib Mujib’.

Dr Mofakkharul Iqbal, the director of the Bangladesh Film Archive, was present as the chief guest on the closing day of the film festival.

Filmmaker and researcher Dildar Hossain, President of Bangladesh International Film Movement, Md Kamrul Islam, General Manager of US Bangla Airlines Arun Sarkar Rana, General Secretary of Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance and Imtiaz Mahbub Khan Toni, CTO of Cinebaz were also present on the occasion.

Special honours were conferred on Selim Khan, a prominent filmmaker, and Sheikh Shah Alam, President of Bangamata Parishad, for his films on the life and work of Bangabandhu.
