‘Paap Punya’ to hit 100 cinemas in US, Canada

‘Monpura’ famed director Giasuddin Selim’s upcoming project ‘Paap Punya’ is all set to release in 100 cinemas across the US and Canada.

The international distributor of the movie Swapna Scarecrow declares the news on the occasion of National Film Day.

This will be the first time a Bangladeshi film is going to be released in more than 100 international cinemas simultaneously, said Md Oliullah Sajib, president of Swapna Scarecrow. He said the movie will be released in more than 100 multiplexes in North America simultaneously with Bangladesh on May 20, 2022, after Eid.

“Now on, Bangladeshi film audiences living in the US will be able to go to one of the AMC, Regal, Cinemark or Cineplex theatres and enjoy the Bangladeshi film ‘Paap Punya’. It is a great honour not only for us but also for all Bangladeshis in North America,” said Oliullah Sajib.

Ibn Hasan Khan, director of sales and marketing, and Saikat Salahuddin, chief executive of Swapna Scarecrow Bangladesh, recently signed an agreement on behalf of Impress Telefilm for the North American distribution of ‘Paap Punya’.

‘Paap Punya’ will be released simultaneously on May 20 at the Cineplex Entertainment Theatre in seven cities across five provinces of Canada and at the Regal, Cinemark, AMC, HARKINS, SHOWCASE theatres in 100 cities across 25 US states.

Till now ‘Unopochansh Batash’ is holding the record of screening internationally in 16 cinemas. If all goes well ‘Paap Punya’ will be soon breaking the record.

Creative producer of the film Abu Shahed Emon, also a film consultant of Impress Telefilm, said, “We believe that through this, the film industry of Bangladesh will move forward on the path of becoming one of the largest industries in the world.”

Produced by Impress Telefilms, the film stars Chanchal Chowdhury, Afsana Mimi, Siam Ahmed, Farzana Chumki, Mamunur Rashid, Gausul Alam Shaon, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahnaz Sumi and others.
