‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ action figures have provided a new sneak peek at the film’s antagonist. In the movie, Christian Bale makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as the dastardly ‘Gorr the God Butcher’, serving as a foe to Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Natalie Portman’s The Mighty Thor, reports Collider.
Several Marvel Legends Build-a-Figure action figure boxes for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ recently surfaced on Facebook and were subsequently shared to the ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ News Twitter account.
The boxes feature promo artwork for several characters from the film, including Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Ravager Thor (Hemsworth), Mighty Thor (Natalie Portman), King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Groot (Vin Diesel) and, of course, Gorr (Bale). The figures themselves recently leaked online, courtesy of Murphy’s Multiverse.
One batch of those leaked images showed Bale, with a shaven head, walking on set in regular clothes, while the other showed him in full costume and makeup, perhaps heading for a shot, shielded by an umbrella and a large jacket. “Wielding a strange and terrifying weapon, Gorr will let nothing stand in his way,” the description on the packaging of Gorr’s action figure reads.
Gorr’s look in the film appears to have been changed from the source comics; he’s missing the character’s black tendrils and seems to have a regular nose. ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is the fourth film in the Thor series, which began in 2011.
The film also stars Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), and Karen Gillan (Nebula); Russell Crowe, Matt Damon, Sam Neill, and Luke Hemsworth will appear in cameos.
