Rowan Atkinson, best known as Mr Bean, will make a comeback in the upcoming comedy series ‘Man Vs Bee’. According to Netflix, Atkinson will indeed be facing off with a fuzzy black-and-yellow bug... and there can only be one winner.
The series is created by Atkinson and Will Davies. The plot goes as, a man who finds himself entrenched in an ongoing battle with a bee while in the midst of housesitting at an elegant mansion. As the official synopsis asks us, “Who will win, and what irreparable damage will be done in the process?”
While the war’s winner is yet unknown, a recently published poster reveals some of the chaos that will undoubtedly occur. A casual kitchen fire can be seen behind Atkinson’s figure, who is armed with an improvised swatter in the form of a spatula in the teaser image.
Streaming giant Netflix released a series of first look images ahead of the Man vs Bee debut this summer, which set the stage for a bonkers battle between Rowan and the striped insect.
In the official poster for the nine-part show, Rowan is seen crouching at eye-level with a marble kitchen surface as he wields a threatening spatula at the bee in front of him.
Tom Basden, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Jing Lusi, Claudie Blakley, Greg McHugh, India Fowler, and Daniel Fearn also feature in Man Vs Bee. Davies wrote and executive produced the film, which also has Chris Clark as an executive producer.
Last August, Rowan was spotted filming the show in Buckinghamshire, adopting a new look with long shaggy hair. ‘Man Vs Bee’ will be hitting Netflix on June 24.
