‘An Action Hero has all cinematic elements that I am known for’

Ayushmann Khurrana took to social media to announce the release date of his much-anticipated film, ‘An Action Hero’. Along with a first-look poster with a blur effect, he shared the film will hit the theatres on December 2, reports India Today.

Ayushmann Khurrana wrapped up London shoot schedule of ‘An Action Hero’ in March. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the movie is touted to be a slick actioner with an offbeat satirical sense of humour. ‘An Action Hero’ also stars Jaideep Ahlawat.

Announcing its release date, Ayushmann wrote on Instagram, “Stay in the blur till 2nd of December 2022 (sic).”

Ayushmann Khurrana talked about what drew him to ‘An Action Hero’. He said, “I absolutely loved the script of An Action Hero instantly. It’s zany, it’s fresh, it’s disruptive and it has all the trappings of cinema that I have come to be known for.”

The film is produced by Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Production and Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar’s T-Series.

Talking about ‘An Action Hero’ hitting the theatres this year, producer Aanand L Rai said, “Colour Yellow is always excited to bring newer stories newer world for its audience. Happy to have two of my favourite actors Ayushman and Jaideep in this thrilling journey of An Action Hero”.

Speaking about the film’s release, director Anirudh Iyer said, “Bringing alive our vision for An Action Hero with Ayushmann and Jaideep has been a blast. Both are brilliant performers and our schedules so far have been quite productive. I am happy with the outcome so far and we can’t wait to show you what we have in store.”

Besides ‘An Action Hero’, Ayushmann Khurrana has a slew of films lined up. He will be seen in Anubhav Sinha’s socio-political thriller, Anek. The film is set to release on May 27. Ayushmann also has Doctor G with Rakul Preet Singh in the pipeline. The film marks the directorial debut of Anubhuti Kashyap, Anurag Kashyap’s sister, and also stars Shefali Shah.
