7 films to have world premiere on Channel i this Eid

Channel i, one of the prominent satellite channels in the country, has come up with a seven-day Eid special programme this year featuring well-known celebrities, writers, and directors.

Like the previous years, the television channel will air the world premiere of new films and this Eid the channel will hold the world premiere of seven Bangladeshi films.

Among these films, the government grants winning film ‘Lal Moroger Jhuti’ directed by Nurul Alam Atique will be aired at 10:15am on Eid day. Produced under the banner of Pandulipi Karkhana, ‘Lal Moroger Jhuti’ is an attempt to go beyond the traditional portrayal of the Liberation War. The ensemble cast of ‘Laal Moroger Jhuti’ has Laila Hasan, Ahmed Rubel, Ashna Habib Bhabna, Ashok Bepary, Ashish Khandaker, Shilpi Sarkar, Joyraj, Ellora Gawhar, Jyotika Jyoti, Dilruba Doyel, Swagata, Shahjahan Samrat, Dipak Sumon, Khalilur Rahman Kaderi and Ananta Munir, among many others.

‘Nodorai’ (Dare to Surf) inspired by the true story of the life of a woman surfer of Bangladesh, will be aired at 10:15am on the second day of the Eid. The film stars Sunerah Binte Kamal, Md. Shaidul Islam and Sariful Razz among others in different roles.

Fakhrul Arefin Khan directed second film ‘Gondi’ will be aired on the third day of Eid. The main two characters in this film have been portrayed by noted Indian actor Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and seasoned Bangladeshi actress Suborna Mustafa. The film also casts Subhasish Bhowmick, Majnun Mizan, Aparna Ghosh, Aman Reza and Payal Mukherjee in different characters.

Prasoon Rahman’s full-length film ‘Dhaka Dream’ based on the magic city of Dhaka will be aired on the fourth day of Eid. The film stars Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahadat Hossain, Munira Mithu, Abdullah Rana, Shahriar Ferdous Sajib, Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Jayita Mahlanbish, Purnima Brishty, Nairuz Sifat and others.

Producer HR Habib’s ‘Chitmahal’ starring Peya Jannatul in the lead role will be aired on the fifth day of Eid. Apart from Peya Jannatul, Moushumi Hamid, Arman Parvez Murad, Anwarul Alam Shazal, and Shimul Khan among others will be seen playing pivotal roles in the film.

‘Chandrabati Kotha’, a biographical film based on the first female poet of Bangla language Chandravati, will be aired on the sixth day of Eid. Directed by N Rashed Chowdhury, government grant film stars Dilruba Hossain Doyel, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, and Gazi Rakayet, among others

The world premiere of the film will come to an end by airing Reazul Rezu’s directorial debut film ‘Bapjaner Bioscope’ on the seventh day of Eid. The film stars Shahiduzjaman Selim, Sanjida Tonmoy, Masud Mohiuddin, Tarek Babu and Satabdi Wadud, among others, in lead roles.
