‘Rickshaw Girl’ to premiere in New York

Bangladeshi filmmaker Amitabh Reza Chowdhury’s critically acclaimed film ‘Rickshaw Girl’ is scheduled to premiere at a famous theatre named ‘Village East by Angelika’ on May 5 in Manhattan on New York.

This screening of ‘Rickshaw Girl’ will be the first-ever Bangladeshi Gala Red Carpet Film Premiere in Manhattan.

There will be a question and answer session with the director. Movie lovers present there will have the opportunity to meet the associated cast and crew members. Novera Rahman & Momena Chowdhury, producer Eric J Adams and co-screenwriter Sharbari Z Ahmed will attend the premiere.

The film is based on the acclaimed novel by Mitali Perkins. The screenplay is jointly written by Naseef Faruque Amin and Sharbari Z Ahmed.

This inspiring film tackles issues surrounding women empowerment and gender equality.

‘Rickshaw girl’ features Novera Ahmed in the lead role. It also stars Naresh Bhuiyan, Allen Shubhro Gomes, Momena Chowdhury, and Champa.

‘Rickshaw Girl’ has won accolades at film festivals throughout the world, including the Prescott Film Festival in US and the SCHLiNGEL International Film Festival in Germany.
