‘Shaan’, ‘Golui’ hold equal importance to Puja

Puja Chery starrer two films – ‘Golui’ and ‘Shaan’ – are going to hit the theatres this Eid and she is excited about both the films claiming that each of those holds equal importance to her and she cannot choose one over another.

Puja expects an overwhelming response from the audience for ‘Shaan’ and her expectation grows more as she thinks the producers had a very successful promotional campaign of the film.

“It’s a matter of joy that ‘Shaan’ is releasing on Eid and it’s a big deal! When you sincerely want something, the entire universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. When I signed for ‘Shaan’, I was told that the film will be released on Eid 2020. But the pandemic deferred the release thrice. Finally, it’s hitting theatres this Eid.”

Puja came up with the remarks while virtually attending the press meet of ‘Shaan’ on April 27.

The actress seems very positive about the release of her two films. “As my two films are releasing this Eid, I’m taking it very positively. I feel very lucky as two of my films are releasing in just four years of my career Eid. I am super excited and not taking any pressure at all,” said Puja Chery.

Puja played opposite Siam Ahmed in ‘Shaan’ and in ‘Golui’ she played opposite Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan. If any of the films becomes a box office hit, it will be a milestone in Puja’s career.

“I would say ‘Shaan’ and ‘Golui’ hold equal importance to me. You can’t choose one between your parents. Similarly, I also can’t choose one between ‘Shaan’ and ‘Golui’,” said Puja.

Siam also expressed his excitement over his film ‘Shaan’. He asked everyone to support the film and said, “In 2018 when my first film ‘Poramon 2’ was released, three films of Shakib Khan were released at the same time. Even then, we got highly praised by the audience. So it’s tough to judge and compare between ‘Shaan’ and ‘Golui’ as we don’t even have a proper box office. Because of this, no matter what I say that won’t be an up to the mark answer.”

In terms of role, Puja Chery played two completely opposite roles in ‘Shaan’ and ‘Golui’. About her characters, she said, “Two characters that I played in the two films are of completely opposite characteristics. In ‘Shaan’, I have played a very smart girl and In ‘Golui’ I played the role of a rural girl. Please watch both of my films along with the other two which are getting released this Eid.”

Actor Siam Ahmed, Nader Chowdhury, Arman Parvez Murad, director M Raahim, screenplay and dialogue co-writers Azad Khan and Nazim Ud Daula, producers Wahidur Rahman and Atiqur Rahman and others were present at the press conference.

The team of ‘Shaan’ requested the audience to watch all four films that are releasing this Eid so all of the films could be successful. They also asked everyone to support the film industry of Bangladesh.
