BTV to air ‘Baghbondi Khela’ today

Bangladesh Television will air drama ‘Baghbondi Khela’, an adaptation of Nobel laureate Doris Lessing’s ‘Play with a Tiger’, as part of its monthly programme Bishwa Natak Parba today.

Based on popular stories and novels of world-famous writers, the BTV airs ‘Bishwa Natak Parba’. This month’s teledrama ‘Baghbondi Khela’ will be aired today at 9:00pm.

‘Play with a Tiger’ was first produced at the Comedy Theatre, London, on March 22, 1962, by Oscar Lewenstein.

Professor Abdus Selim translated the play and Imam Hossain produced it for BTV.

“One teledrama is being aired every month in the world drama segment. ‘Baghbondi Khela’ will be aired under that segment,” said the producer Imam Hossain.

The teledrama is a story of the post-World War II period. The story revolves around the love-separation, joy-pain, happiness-sorrow, and hope-despair of the women of the western frustrated middle-class society. Azad Abul Kalam, Jayita Mahlanbish, Sadika Swarna, Maru Bhaskar, Riyad Raihan and others will be seen in the teledrama.
