After cinemas, Shahid Kapoor’s sports drama Jersey will soon be available to stream on Netflix. The film will premiere on the Netflix on May 20, reports The Indian Express.
The Hindi remake of Nani-starrer was released on April 22 after multiple delays due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“If you see us tearing up, it’s because we just watched Jersey and we can’t wait for you to catch it too. JERSEY ARRIVES ON NETFLIX ON 20TH MAY,” the social media post of Netflix read.
The story is of a middle-aged cricketer, who gets back into the game for the love of his son.
The movie revolves around a former cricketer in his late 30s, who decides to return to the field and possibly relive his glory days after his son’s insistence for a jersey.
Gowtam Tinnanuri directed the film which also stars Mrunal Thakur, Nani, Shraddha Srinath, Harish Kalyan, Sanusha, Sathyaraj, Sampath Raj and Viswant Duddumpudi.
Jersey received mixed to negative reviews and a poor box office performance.
It is estimated that it has received roughly Rs 20 crore so far.
