Sadly, I’ve to prove that I’m alive: Hanif

Popular television anchor Hanif Sanket finally took his social media handle to refute the rumours of his death.

“It’s very sad that I have to prove with a status that I am alive. I never thought of posting such a status about my death,” he wrote on Facebook.

Rumours awash social media about the death of Hanif since Tuesday night as posts informing his ‘death’ in a ‘road accident’ began circulating.

“I’m quite well with your prayers and love. I’m fine. I did not suffer from any kind of accident. For the past couple of days, my family and I have been in deep mental trauma over such death rumours. Hundreds of people have already contacted me and still continuing to reach me and wished me good health,” he said.

Hanif questioned why some attention mongers intentionally kill a person just to get views, likes, and shares on social media. “What kind of mentality is it? Do they have any other purpose?” he added.

“A class of sick-minded people who use social media is doing anti-social acts by spreading false and misleading information about human deaths hoping to increase their view business and followers. I don’t understand what kind of mentality they have behind killing a healthy person. Don’t they ever think we have family, we have relatives, and we have well-wishers?” he wrote.

Hanif Sanket also asked people to stand up against those individuals and not to believe rumours. He further stated that individuals who spread the rumour will face severe consequences.

“My heartfelt gratitude to everyone who were been affected by rumours of my death. And I’m condemning those who promote such misinformation. I’ve already contacted the authorities concerned about cybercrimes. They have promised that they will act immediately,” he added.

Hanif is the producer of the country’s popular magazine show, ‘Ityadi’.

He rose to fame with the late Fazle Lohani’s magazine show ‘Jadi Kichhu Mone Na Koren’. He then gained popularity with ‘Ityadi’, which later became the most popular magazine show in the country.

Hanif Sanket has also shown signs of directing plays. Notable among the popular dramas he directed are ‘Aay Phire tor Praner Baranday’, ‘Durghatna’, ‘Toshamode Khosh Amode’, ‘Kinkartavya’, ‘Kusum Kusum Bhalobasha’, ‘Sheshe Aase Abheshe’.

Hanif Sanket has also acted in the film. He has written a number of satires and humorous compositions.
