Snigdha Chowdhury to star in ‘Rasta’

Director Raihan Rafi is going to cast a new face, Snigdha Chowdhury, in his upcoming film ‘Rasta’ opposite Siam Ahmed.

“I always try to bring something new. This time, I am introducing Snigdha. I’ve always tried to work with new faces. When I was casting Siam in ‘Poramon2’ and ‘Dahan’, he was also a newcomer to the film industry. We were planning to work with Snigdha for a long time. This time, as everything falls into place, we are ready to start the project”, said Raihan Rafi.

“We have been grooming her for a long time and we planned to launch her through this film,” he added.

Without revealing much about the film the director said, “The film ‘Rasta’ will be a court drama. ‘Rasta’ is going to be a social drama thriller like ‘Dahan’. But of course, the audience will have a test of commercial film. We will be starting the shooting soon”.

‘Rasta’ was announced last year by Jaaz Multimedia but they did not reveal much about the film then. 

The production house, Jaaz Multimedia, has recently posted about the new actress on their official Facebook page. According to the post, the shooting of this film is going to start this June.

Snigdha signed a contract with Jazz for the film ‘Rasta’ about 6 months ago. During these 6 months, Snigdha took acting classes and did gym under the supervision of Jazz.

Snigdha Chowdhury is a young model studying Economics at Southeast University. 

Director Raihan Rafi is now ready to release his two films. Of those, ‘Damal’ revolves around football and ‘Poran’ will be a cinema of the romantic genre. The director is expected to release at least one of them this Eid-ul-Azha.
