Sufi Maverick quits Arbovirus

Sufi Maverick, the vocalist of popular rock band Arbovirus, has decided to leave the band.

The musician made this announcement himself through a Facebook statement on the night of June 13. Claiming the post is not a gimmick post Sufi Maverick wrote, “I resigned from my band for a very personal, very rational reason. The shows that we’ve already confirmed will be my last performances with Arbovirus.”

“Everything comes to an end but realizing when to take leave from the place is the most important part. There will be emptiness; there will be dissatisfaction but regret never! In the past twenty years, just with the love and courage given by the audience took the small town guitarist to a distant galaxy. This is an absolute achievement for me. I tried to keep in mind that what I got is not something that everyone gets,” he added.

Sufi Maverick also requested everyone on social media not to ask any questions for now and added that they will be back after rearranging themselves.

‘Arbovirus’ was formed in 2001. In 2003, Sufi joined the band as a vocal along with Ishtiaq Jishan, and Farhan Tanim joined as a bassist, and drummer respectively to complete the line-up.

The band has hits like ‘Hariye Jao’, ‘Artinad’, ‘Omanush’, ‘School’, ‘Roder Kinaray’,  and many more.
