Nineteen full-length feature films have been selected for receiving Tk 12.15 crore in grants from the government for the fiscal year 2021-22.
The Information Ministry published the list of the films and the amount of grant in a circular on Wednesday.
Among the films, ten are receiving Tk 60 lakh each, four films Tk 65 lakh each, and another four films Tk 70 lakh each. Director Amitabh Reza Chowdhury is getting the highest amount of Tk 75 lakh for the film ‘1969’.
For the first time, Shakib Khan and Apu Biswas have received grants as producers. Shakib will get TK 65 lakh for the film ‘Maya’, while Apu Biswas will get the same amount for the film ‘Lal Saree’.
The films that are receiving the grants of TK 60 lakh are —‘Joy Banglar Dhoni’ (Based on the 1971 Liberation War) directed by KM Khurshid, ‘Ekattor-Korotole Chinnomatha’ (Liberation War-based), by Rafiqul Anwar, ‘Japito Jibon’ by Habibul Islam Habib, ‘Otopor Rokeya’ by Shamim Akter, ‘Dodor Golpo’ by Reza Ghatak, ‘Arji’ by Kamal Mohammad Kibria, ‘Ahare Jibon’ by Chatku Ahmed, ‘Bhashar Jonno Momotaz’ by Sarwar Tamizuddin, ‘Muktir Chotogolpo’ by Masud Zakaria Chowdhury and Abdus Samad Khokon and ‘Ontorkhola’ by Ratan Kumar Pal.
Juddho Jibon by Rifat Mostafa, ‘Laal Saree’ directed by Bondhon Biswas, ‘Bicharaloy’ by Sharaf Ahmed Jibon and ‘Maya’ by Himel Ashraf are receiving the grants TK 65 lakh.
The films that are receiving the grants TK 70 lakh are—‘Banalata Sen’ by directed by Masud Hasan Ujjal, ‘Bangabandhur Renu’ by Marufa Akhter Popy, ‘Bokul Kotha’ by Masud Mohiuddin and Mahmud Hasan Sikder and ‘Eito Jibon’ by Syed Ali Haider Rizvi.
Short films that are receiving the grants are—‘Ekti Bhorer Opekkhay’ (Film), ‘Loknattya Proshongo O Dhamer Gaan’ (Documentary), ‘Jol Toronger Gaan’ (Documentary), ‘Athlete Sultana Kamal’ (Film), ‘Bakita Itihash’ (Film) and ‘Bamadesh’ (Film).
