The first week’s revenue of the film ‘Omanush’ will be donated to the flood victims of Sylhet. Nirab-Mithila starrer film ‘Omanush’ was released in 41 cinemas across the country on June 17.
Director Anonno Mamun made this announcement through a Facebook status from his verified Facebook page on Saturday.
Director Anonno Mamun confirmed the news to The Business Post and said, “All of the money from ticket sales for the first week will be given to the flood victims. Today all the team members of the film ‘Omanush’ including Nirab and I will go there to distribute the essentials among them.”
Both Nirab and Mithila also confirmed the news from their verified Facebook account by posting a poster that says, “All of the money from ticket sales for the first week of ‘Omanush’ will be donated to flood victims of Sylhet”.
Posting the poster Nirab captioned, “Let us all stand by the flood-affected people”. The shooting for the film has mostly taken place outdoors and has been shot in jungles. Some part of the film was shot in Sylhet too.
Directed by Anonno Mamun the film is based on a true story. Apart from Nirab and Mithila the film also casts Nawshaba, Misha Saudagar, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Rashed Mamun Apu, and others.
