Gallery Chitrak pays tribute to Shilpaguru Safiuddin thru exhibition

A 14-day solo painting and printmaking exhibition of Shilpaguru Safiuddin Ahmed is underway at Gallery Chitrak, Dhanmondi in the capital.

Marking the birth centenary of Shilpaguru Safiuddin Ahmed, Gallery Chitrak and Safiuddin Shilpalay jointly organised the exhibition, where Gallery Chitrak is exhibiting paintings and prints by Safiuddin Ahmed while Safiuddin Shilpalay is exhibiting artworks by renowned and young artists.

The exhibition at Gallery Chitrak includes more than one hundred paintings and prints of Safiuddin Ahmed.

His oil painting titled ‘Angling’ created in 1954 and Oil portraits of Hamidur Rahman and Dilip Das Gupta are also on display at the exhibition.

Safiuddin Shilpalay is exhibiting more than 300 artworks created by renowned and young painters and printmakers of the country at the print festival.

Artworks by Mohammad Kibria, Rafiqun Nabi, Monirul Islam, Abul Barak Alvi, Kalidas Karmakar, Bani Adam, Rashid Amin, Mokhlesur Rahman, Ahmed Nazir, Muslim Mia, Ivy Zaman, Shakil Majumder, Fawaz Rob, Salma Zakia Brishti, Shoumik Ghosh, Subarna Morsheda, Jeba Faria Miti, Jyotsna Mahbub, Rabeya Akhter, Rania Alam and others are being displayed at the exhibition.

The artworks at Gallery Chitrak are not available for purchase, while most of the artworks at Safiuddin Shilpalay are available for purchase.

Began on June 17, the exhibition is remain open to all every day from 11:00am to 8:00pm, until June 30.
