Limon’s ‘Poddar Dheu Re’ gets positive response

After the back-to-back success of previous seasons, IPDC Amader Gaan has launched the first song of their 4th season ‘Poddar Dheu Re’ on July 24. In less than a week the song sang by Jakir Hossain Limon, popularly known as Bibagi Limon has gathered a positive response by the audience.

Partha Barua arranged and directed its music while Rashid Khan was responsible behind the overall planning.

Kazi Nazrul Islam wrote and composed the song ‘Poddar Dheu Re’ was first sung by Sachin Dev Burman.

The purpose of this season is to portray the huge range of Bangladeshi folk music to the world. To establish this idea, IPDC Amader Gaan released this song as the first one of this season.

‘Poddar Dheu Re’ has already garnered positive appreciation from the audience. Following the release of the song last evening, it received 86,600 views, 4.3 thousand likes, and 423 comments on YouTube till the filling of this report at 3:00pm on Tuesday.

“I had an opportunity to cross the River Padma and fell in love with it. With best wishes for IPDC, from Kolkata,” a fan MEETA DAS wrote form Kolkata.

“Wow. Finally, this talented guy is getting a chance in the mainstream.  An old listener of Limon,” commented Ift Anik on Youtube.

Another well-wisher, Chandana Chakraborti, commented, “I liked the well-lit stage used earlier and the dancers are making it a little artificial and not that impactful.”

Along with Bibagi Limon’s voice Warda Rihab and her dance group as performed the dance performance on ‘Poddar Dheu Re’.

The chorus of this song was sung by Nasha and Piu.

Avjit Chakraborty played the dholak while Nayan played the Bangla Dhol in this song. Ujjal was on percussion, Ashik on drums, Tanim on bass guitar, Roman on acoustic guitar, Mir Masum on keyboard, Kabil on trumpet and Khartal was played by Alam.
