Ovi awarded for contribution to entertainment journalism

Mohammad Ovi Moinuddin, a prominent entertainment journalist, has received recognition for his remarkable contribution to the country’s entertainment journalism once again. This time he was awarded ‘Star Plus Communication Performance Award’ for his contribution to the entertainment industry on Friday.

Noted singer Runa Laila handed over the award to Ovi in an award ceremony, held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on Friday evening.

Prominent director, lyricist, and producer Gazi Mazharul Anwar was present as a special guest while Former Member of Parliament Zafar Iqbal Siddiqui was present on the occasion as the guest of honour. Earlier, he was awarded the ‘Jagroto Star Award 2022’ at Shilpakala Academy on June 5 and the ‘Bangladesh International Fame Award 2022’ at Pan Pacific Sonargaon on June 28.

Ovi Moinuddin said, “I am thankful to Allah Almighty that I am healthy, well and I can fulfill my professional responsibilities properly. This award will be memorable to me because I have received this honour from renowned singer Runa Laila. Gazi Mazharul Anwar Bhai has also inspired me. The moment of receiving this honour from both of them will be memorable in my life.”

Ovi Moinuddin has been in the entertainment industry for over two decades. He graduated from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at the University of Dhaka. He was awarded 18 times for contribution to the country’s entertainment journalism.
