Popular music director, composer, and lyricist Prince Mahmud and eminent singer-musician-lyricist Maqsoodul Haque have worked together on a brand new song after 21 years.
Maqsoodul Haque- frontman of the band Maqsood O Dhaka, lent his voice to a new song ‘Shatey-Panchey’ which is composed by Prince Mahmud.
The music arrangement for the song is done by Sajid Sarker while Samuel Haque wrote the lyrics. The music video for the song has been directed by Nazmus Sadat Nayeem.
“I’m working with Maqsood’s song after 21 years. I believe, the audience will like the song,” said Prince.
It all started after Prince shared a post regarding the song ‘Keno Mon Niye Eto Dao Jontrona’ sung by Maqsoodul Haque from the 1996 album ‘Khoma’. After sharing the song many started to get nostalgic and that was the inspiration behind the collaboration after 26 years.
The song will be released during Eid-ul-Adha, under the banner of the G-series.
The last collaboration between Prince and Maqsood took place over 26 years ago when the album ‘Khawma’ was released in 1996. The album was a compilation of tracks from different bands and is still considered the ‘best-mixed’ band album of the 90s. After that Maqsood sang another song titled ‘Joto Paro Tumi’ in 1999.
