Mahdiyah Naim, daughter of popular couple Shabnaz and Naim, has released her first original song titled ‘Din Gune’ on her YouTube channel today. The song will also be available on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music platforms.
The music video of the song has been directed by her elder sister Nameera Naim. The song is written by Ovi Moinuddin and composed by Yusuf Ahmed Khan.
Naim and Shabnaz are popular artists in the Bangladeshi cinema industry in the 90s. Naim debuted as a film actor in 1991 with the film ‘Chandni’ directed by Ehtesham. In that film his co-artiste was Sabreena Taniya Shabnaz. In almost all of his films, Naim was paired with Shabnaz, and later in 1994, they got married.
Their mother, Shabnaz said, “The song has a very youthful vibe. It’s a very simple and melodious song. I hope the audience will like the song. I am very happy that she is doing well in what she loves. I just want my daughters to grow up as good human beings and inspire people through their work.”
Mahdiyah said, “I have been seeing Ovi uncle since my childhood. A few weeks back, he offered to write a song for me at a house party. This is the type of song I’ve always wanted to sing. I loved the melody and lyrics of the song. I am very excited about my first original single. I hope the audience will like my new song.”
Her sister Nameera said, “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been more comfortable behind the camera. So, from directing my sister’s first music video to planning the shooting, I love every bit of it. I hope the audience will like it.”
From time to time, Naim uploaded videos of his two daughters singing. Generally, in those videos, Naim can be sighted playing a musical instrument while his youngest daughter Mahdiyah sings the song. Mahdiyah has already been appreciated because of her singing through social media, while Nameera Naim seems to have an interest in sports.
Both Nameera Naim and Mahdiyah Naim went to York University in Canada and finished their early studies at The Aga Khan School in Dhaka.
