Aishwarya Rai Bachchan dazzles as Nandini in ‘Ponniyin Selvan’

The first-look poster of Aishwarya Rai Bacchchan from the film ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ directed by Mani Ratnam. She will make her comeback in Tamil with this film. She will essay the role of Nandini, Princess of Pazhuvoor, in the film. Apart from Nandini, Aishwarya will also be seen as Mandakini Devi in the film, reports India Today.

The first-look posters of Chiyaan Vikram and Karthi won the attention of every film buff. They play Aditya Karikalan and Vanthiyathevan, respectively, in Ponniyin Selvan.

The makers of Ponniyin Selvan unveiled the much-awaited first-look poster featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Wednesday . Sharing the poster, Lyca Productions wrote, “Vengeance has a beautiful face! Meet Nandini, the Queen of Pazhuvoor! #PS1 releasing in theatres on 30th September in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada (sic).”

Nandini is the wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, played by Sarathkumar. She plots the downfall of the Chola dynasty. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will also be seen as Mandakini Devi, mother of Nandini.

Ponniyin Selvan has been director Mani Ratnam’s dream project for over a decade. He tried to make the film several times, but his plans never materialised due to budget and casting constraints. Now, he has achieved his dream as Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 is all set for release on September 30.
