There’s a carnival of surprises in store for the entertainment industry during the Eid holidays. Filmmakers also announce the release date of their upcoming films ahead of Eid. It might be a dull Eid holiday for the moviegoers because this Eid, there will be no films of Shakib Khan, Arefin Shuvo, or Siam Ahmed. But so far, 3 films are confirmed to release in theatres this Eid. Here’s a list of some of the most eagerly anticipated Bengali films in Eid ul Azha 2022:
Deen: The Day
The big budget film “Deen: The Day,” featuring the Ananta-Barsha duo, will be released on the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
In the film, Ananta Jalil plays Commander AJ, an action hero who fights international opium dealer Abu Khalid.
According to Ananta Jalil, the film is a protest against the negative propaganda that is currently wreaking havoc in the world by demonising Islam and promoting terrorism.
The trailer has already stirred buzz among the audience. Apart from Bangladesh, the film was shot in several other countries including Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Lebanon, and Syria.
The film is directed by Iranian filmmaker Murtaza Otash Jamjam, starring Ananta and his wife Afiea Nusrat Barsha, newcomer Sumon Faruk and several Lebanese and Iranian actors.
‘Deen – The Day’ is a collaboration between Bangladesh and Iran. The film is jointly produced by Ananta Jalil’s Monsoon Films and Iran’s Farabi Cinema. The film will be released in Bengali, Persian, Arabic, and English languages.
Poran
After multiple postponement, Bidya Sinha Saha Mim’s upcoming film ‘Poran’ directed by Raihan Rafi is all set to be released this Eid-ul-Azha.
The trailer of the film has released on Monday and created hype among the audinece. Based on the trailer, the audience started to predict that the story is based on the story of Barguna’s much-talked-about Rifat-Minni incident. But without reliving much, the director just said that the story is based on a true story and will be a love triangle.
The song ‘Cholo Niralay’ in the film had a positive effect on the audience. The film is being released under the banner of Live Technologies.
Yash Rohan and Sariful Razz will be seen in this film in important roles. Apart from them, Shilpi Sharkar Apu, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Rosey Siddiqui, Lutfor Rahman George, Mili Bashar, and Rashed Mamun Apu also star in other roles in the movie.
Psycho
Anonno Mamun’s ‘Psycho’ starring Puja Cherry and Ziaul Roshan in the lead roles is scheduled to release in 60 halls all over the country.
In this film, Puja will play the character of the daughter of a minister who is kidnapped, while Roshan will play double roles, one as a police officer and the other as a psychopath.
The film is produced by two filmmaking companies - RBS Entertainment and Celebrity Productions.
Icon Man

Pap-Punno - World TV premiere
Like ‘Monpura’, ‘Swapnajal’, and ‘Gunin’, Gias Uddin Selim’s ‘Pap-Punno’ also gained a good reputation as soon as it was released. This is the last part of Selim’s Love Trilogy, the first two of which were ‘Monpura’ and ‘Swapnajal’.
