‘Padma Setu’ to release in August

‘Padma Setu’, first film based on Bangladesh’s successful mega project Padma Bridge, directed by Ali Azad is expected to release in August this year. The film is now in censor board for its clearance certificate.

The producer of the film, Borua Monojit Dheemon said, “We submitted the film ‘Padma Setu’ to the censor board on July 6. Hopefully, we will get an uncut censor clearance and everyone will appreciate the film after watching it.”

Secretary of the Censor Board, Mominul Haque said, “Many of us are interested about the film ‘Padma Setu’. The film has been submitted to the censor board. We will review the film as per schedule. If all goes well, hopefully the film will get a censor certificate by next week.”

Besides directing the film, Ali Azad also wrote its story and screenplay for the film.

“We want to tell the story of our pride the nation have because of Padma Bridge. I’m expecting that the audience will interpret the film differently and watch it considering it as a film rather than mixing it up with real story. I hope the film won’t disappoint audience. I tried my best to give a good story to the audience,” said Azad.

The whole shooting took place in nearby areas of Padma Bridge and the story of the film also revolves around the bridge. The Padma Bridge is more than a bridge; it is a symbol of nation’s progress and pride. Above all, it’s also a symbol of our self-esteem and self-identity. The story of ‘Padmar Buke Shopner Setu’ tells the story of that.

The film casts Sanj John, Olivia Maisha, Raihan Mujib, Himel Raj, Khuku, Anwar Siraji, Shanta Paul among others.

Produced by Bagla Talkies, Jazz Multimedia will distribute the film.
