Shakib Khan’s ‘Golui’ releases in USA

Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan and Puja Cherry starrer government-funded film ‘Golui’ released in the USA for the first time.

The film was released at the Jamaica Multiplex in New York on July 15 presented by Bioscope Films. A total of 28 shows of ‘Golui’ will run till July 21. 

Besides, the film will be screened in different states of the United States for a month. In the meantime, the director of the film S A Haque Olike and Shakib Khan attended the premiere show of ‘Golui’ in New York. 

Bioscope Films’ CEO Dr Raj Hamid said, “We have been trying for a long time to bring Bengali cinema to the world, we want healthy films, healthy entertainment to win everywhere. Bioscope Films is set to release the government-grant film in the United States.”

Bioscope Films Managing Director Nowshaba Rubna Rashid said, “Shakib Khan has a lot of fans in the US, but no film of Shakib Khan has been released in the US before. This is the first time that ‘Galui’ will be screened in theaters in the United States. We hope that Bengali cinema lovers will come to the theater and watch ‘Golui’.”

S A Haque Olike said, “We are going to present a complete Bengali movie to the American expatriate. I have taken preparation for that. Hope everyone will enjoy the movie.”

The film was released in Bangladesh last Eid-ul-Fitr. The film has received a government grant of Tk 60 lakh for the financial year 2020-21. This is the first government grant film starring Shakib Khan. The film is based on the story of love and the lost tradition of rural Bengal.

The film also stars Azizul Hakim, Shamu Chowdhury, Jhuna Chowdhury, Shucharita, and others.
