‘Paap Punno’ gets better response online

While ‘Paan Punno’ could not make good business in theatres, the film is getting a good response on the web platform.

Generally, Giasuddin Selim’s film triggers hype and films starring Chanchal Chowdhury and Siam Ahmed become hits. Thus, these names are somewhat enough to gather a crowd in cinemas but the film failed to do so in theatres. But the response of the audience to ‘Paap Punno’ on Youtube is good.

‘Paap Punno’ was released on May 20 globally and again became a most-talked-about topic after its online release. The film is now trending at six on Youtube.

The film was uploaded on the official Youtube channel of Channel i on July 11. In less than a week, the film got three million views with 86 thousand likes and more than six thousand comments on Youtube. Most of the comments seemed to be positive towards the film.

Gisasuddin Selim’s star-studded ‘Paap Punno’ features Chanchal Chowdhury, Siam Ahmed, and Afsana Mimi. Yet the film did not show good performance at the box office. Chanchal Chowdhury finds a lack of promotion behind the fewer audiences in the halls.

Earlier Chanchal said, “The film ‘Paap-Punno’ didn’t reach the success level of ‘Monpura’, ‘Aynabaji’ or ‘Debi’. Even the campaign of ‘Debi’ was satisfactory and for that, the film reached a good number of audiences. I’m not satisfied with the promotion of ‘Paap-Punno’”

“Though the campaign for the film ‘Paap-Punno’ was not that much, I have received a positive response for the film. But, this is not satisfactory to me,” he added.

It seems a proper promotional campaign is another key aspect behind the success of a film.

With this film, Afsana Mimi came back to acting in cinemas after ‘Priyotomeshu’ (2009) directed by Humayun Ahmed.

Produced by Impress Telefilm, ‘Paap Punno’ stars Chanchal Chowdhury, Afsana Mimi, Siam Ahmed, Farzana Chumki, Mamunur Rashid, Gausul Alam Shaon, Fazlur Rahman Babu, and Shahnaz Sumi in vital roles.
