‘The Rohingya’ portrays miserable lives of Refugees

Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond’s new film, ‘The Rohingya’ will hit the cinemas soon. The poster of the film has been published on social media on July 18.

The film revolves around Rohingyas and their stories when they entered Bangladesh as refugees. ‘The Rohingya’ even got an uncut censor certificate from Bangladesh Film Censor Board.

The recently released poster shows a helpless Rohingya girl. The poster also has lines that go as, “We are not Bengali. We are not oppressors. We are Arakani Rohingya Muslims. We don’t want the refugee life. Give our land back to us.”

The work of this film was completed long back and was supposed to release in 2020 but due to the pandemic, the release was delayed.

The shooting of the film started in September 2017 at Ukhia Camp in Cox’s Bazar. The shooting also took place at the various locations of Naf River, Shahpari Island, and Teknaf. Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond’s ‘The Rohingya’ has some tragic stories as well.

The film is about the inhuman torture and killing of Rohingyas in Myanmar and portrays their miserable lives. It also tried to portray the role of international media too.

The film casts, Arshi Hossain, Mintu, Shreya Bristi, Tnjid, Omar Ayaz Oni, and others in various roles.
