Drama ‘Ammajan’ dedicated to Manna

Filmmaker Kazi Hayat made a film titled ‘Ammajan’ 23 years ago. Veteran actors Shabnam and late actor Manna played the roles of mother and son in the film. Even today, the film is impressed in the minds of the audience. This time ‘Ammajan’ has been made for the small screen.

Directed by Maidul Rakib, the drama ‘Ammajan’ stars Monira Mithu and Shahriar Nazim Joy as mother and son. There is also a song about ‘Ammajan’.

Maidul Rakib dedicated his latest drama ‘Ammajan’ to iconic actor Manna.

The drama is inspired by the film ‘Ammajan’ directed by Kazi Hayat in 1999.  The story of the drama revolves around the love and bond between mother and son as it is a very common story. It portrays the story of mamma’s boy.

“Though there is an atmosphere of the movie ‘Ammajan’ in the drama I tried to play the character in my way,” said Monira Mithu.

Last Eid, Shahriar Nazim Joy created hype with the OTT content ‘Floor Number 7’ which was his ‘come back’ project. According to Joy, with the drama, ‘Ammajan’ he made another remarkable comeback.

The drama is now streaming on YouTube on July 18.
