The makers of the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer ‘Brahmastra’ heard the pleas of music lovers and released the full version of the ‘Kesariya’ song from the film recently. However, the song has caught the netizens’ attention for all the wrong reasons, reports Outlook.

The listeners are baffled at the use of the ‘love storiyan’ phrase in the song, which sticks out like a sore thumb.

What compounds the audience’s odd listening experience is the fact that the lines have been penned by none other than Amitabh Bhattacharya. But this time, the audience isn’t too pleased with what Bhattacharya has doled out. As soon as the song hit the airwaves, it sparked a meme fest on Instagram and Twitter, with many memers pointing out the visible difference before and after the mouthing of ‘love storiyan’.

Meanwhile, some also started sharing proof that Kesariya has been inspired in parts from two popular songs. The music of Kesariya has been composed by Pritam, while the Hindi version is sung by Arijit Singh. The chorus of song, its lyrics being ‘kesariya tera ishq hai piya, rang jaaun jo main haath lagau,’ appears to be similar to a part in Charkha-- a folk song by the Wadalis--Lakhwinder Wadali and Pooran Wadali.

The part before the chorus also appears to be similar to a popular Bollywood song. The chorus of Laree Choote, a song from the 2007 film Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, picturised on Abhay Deol and Neha Dhupia, had similar music. The song was composed by Pakistani rock band Call and became an overnight sensation.

Kesariya has also been released in its Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions as Kumkumala, Theethiriyaai, Kunkumamaake, and Kesariya Rangu respectively.
