Reza Ghatok’s upcoming film ‘Haribol’ will be premiered today at 4:00pm at Isfendiyar Jahed Hasan auditorium of Bishwo Sahitto Kendro in the capital.

The event will begin with a brief introduction followed by the screening of Haribol and the team will have a question answer session after the screening.

‘Haribol’ is the first part of a trilogy. The second part is titled ‘Suparna Bose’ and the third is ‘R’. The entire narrative will be revealed through each standalone part of the narrative connected by a thread, based on the canvas of Bangladesh. Each part comprises stories that are very familiar from Bangladesh perspective.

The film casts, Kazi Faisal, Iktarul Islam, Tripti Soren, Salim Haidar, Liakat Liku, Imran Hossen, Yusuf Boby, Jahid hasan, Pronab Das, Manoj Mondal, Ranjit Mondal, Bidhan Biswas, Emdadul Haque Howlader, Jiban Krishna Gharami, Swapan Paul, Chinmoy Chakraborty, Ilias Ali Khan, Amit, Chandan and villagers of Baniary. Presented by Anisuz Zaman ‘Haribol’ is a production of Baleswar Films.

The story is set in the location of Baleshwar, a dying, barren locality in the southern part of Bangladesh at Pirojpur district.

The Farakka Dam has restricted the flow of the many tributaries of the River Padma and rendered the regions around them eventually unlivable. The Baleshwar River is one such tributary that has been deeply affected as a result, so much so that it is now called ‘The Dead Baleshwar’ by locals. ‘Haribol’ is set in that decrepit region of Baleshwar.
