Nawshaba’s ‘Together We Can’ to be in WOW Festival

Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed’s puppet group ‘Together We Can’ will get featured in the Wow (Women of the World) Festival. The programme organised by the British Council will be held at Rajshahi College on July 28.

The team will be providing a self-defense strategy workshop for women and people with special needs in workshop titled ‘I Can Protect Me’.

Apart from that, they will also perform the puppet theatre production ‘Riya-A Girl with a White Pigeon’ directed by Nawshaba. The show will feature artists with special needs. The interactive theatre play ‘Bishmoykor Shobkichhu’, produced by Spordha and directed by renowned theatre artiste Syed Jamil Ahmed, is another special segment of the festival. This play is also coordinated by ‘Together We Can’.

WOW is a festival that celebrates women and girls and takes a frank look at the obstacles they face across the world. There are talks, performances, activism, workshops, food, music, mentoring, workshops, and more. It brings people together – both speakers and audience members – energising and providing the inspiration and tools to make the change.

Jude Kelly launched WOW in 2010 to mark the centenary of International Women’s Day. It grew in response to an enthusiastic demand for a global network of festivals.
