Dhaka Theatre to stage ‘Nimajjan’ tomorrow

Theatre troupe Dhaka Theatre is going to stage the 77th show of its much acclaimed production ‘Nimajjan’ tomorrow at 7:00pm at Bangladesh Mohila Samity auditorium of Baily Road in the capital. The play will be staged celebrating the 50 years of the troupe Dhaka Theatre.

Story written by Selim Al Deen, the play has been directed by Nasiruddin Yousuff. Nimajjan is an anti-war production of Dhaka Theatre.

Nimajjan, the 32nd production of the troupe, has no certain plot. Through dialogues, narratives and choreographies, the play moves forward to weave a chronology of genocides around the world. The play opens with a stranger, who after making a world tour, ventures to meet his ailing friend, a political science professor. During his journey, he comes across many events of genocide. The genocides, which the play speaks against, are held in countries like Bangladesh, Uganda, Rwanda, Kosovo, Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The probable cast of the play includes Milu Chowdhury, Asaduzzaman Aman, Mostafa Ratan, Rafiq Mohammad, Sirajul Islam, Samiun Jahan Dola, Rony Hossain, Sazzad Rajiv and Saidul Islam, among others.
