Mime artists Lokman, Mou to perform in S Korea

Mime artistes Mir Lokman and Moushumi Mou are set to represent Bangladesh at the “31st Asian Solo Performance Festival 2022” in South Korea, which kicks off today.

The three-day event at Geochang will end on Sunday, according to a press release. Lokman and Mou left for South Korea on Tuesday.

Lokman will stage a 30-minute production consisting of three sketches titled “Colours, Blood and A Scream,” “Jibon Jekhane Jemon,” and “Ashikriti.” He will stage two shows at separate venues during the festival.

According to media reports, the first part of the production tells the stories of supreme sacrifices made for Bangladesh’s independence.

The second segment tells a story about the issues faced by street children and the last part addresses violence against women.

Mou will oversee the props, light projection and music of the production.

Many artists from Turkey, India, Thailand, Japan and South Korea are also set to perform at the festival.
