Himadrida sings first playback for ‘Radio’

Promising singer Himadrida Porna for the first time lent her voice for the playback song ‘Praner Pradeep’ for the film ‘Radio’ directed by Anonno Mamun.

The song has been composed and arranged by Emon Saha. Eminent singer Kumar Biswajit sang another song in the film.

Regarding the song, Himadrita Porna told The Business Post, “I’ve played back for the first time through this film. It was my long-awaited desire that I will lend my voice to a movie song. I’m so lucky that I debuted in the playback arena through a film with a historical setting. It is a film based on our historical March 7 Speech by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.” 

The film ‘Radio’ is based on the historic speech of 7th March by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The movie will portray how Bangabandhu’s historic speech inspired the village people to go to war and showcase an important chapter in the historic event. Actor Riaz and actress Zakia Bari Mom played the lead roles in ‘Radio’.

“The film contains two songs and I played back for one of those, and the other one is played back by Kumar Biswajit. ‘Praner Pradeep’ is a folk song. Here I voiced a teenage girl. I want to thank Anonno Mamun Bhai for giving me this opportunity”, she added.

The singer recently released a music video ‘Mayay Bedhechho’ on YouTube. Jahid Akbar has written the lyrics, while Dolon Moinak has tuned and directed the music. In this music video, Himadrita shared the screen with Emon. 

“I was born into a musical family, my parents played tabla, I still wake up to the sound of my father playing tabla,” she added.

Regarding her plan for music, the singer said, “I have a handful of projects coming up and I want to remain a surprise for my audience.
