Abanti Sithi, who won many hearts with her melodious voice and engaging performances on stage, is going to release a new song titled ‘Amader Bangamata’ on the 'Sujan Hajong Official' YouTube channel today. The song is a tribute to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, the wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The song will be released today, marking the 92nd birth anniversary of the Bangamata.
The song is written by Sujan Hajong, director of the Birishiri Minority Cultural Academy in Netrakona, while Suman Kalyan has composed its music.
Regarding the song, Abanti Sithi said, “Earlier, I sang a song titled ‘Muktir Sangram’ written by Sujan Hajong and composed by Suman Kalyan. I received a positive response to the song. I feel very lucky that I had the opportunity to sing a song on Bangamata. I am thankful to Sujan Hajong and Suman Kalyan. The lyrics and melody of the track are very emotional and heart-touching. I am very satisfied with the song and I believe it will be loved by all.”
Sujan Hajong said, “I have written this song as a tribute to our respected Bangamata marking her birthday today. Hopefully, this song will be appreciated by the audience.”
In the meantime, Abanti Sithi’s two new original songs written by Prosenjit Ojha and composed by Shobhan Roy will be released soon. Also, a song written by Rana Sohail on Rubi Roy will be released on Abanti Sithi’s own YouTube channel. The music video of this song was helmed by Lata Acharya.
Bangamata was born on August 8, 1930, in Tungipara village of Gopalganj.
She was brutally killed along with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of their family members on August 15, 1975.
