Two shows of ‘Jadukar’ tomorrow

Theatre troupe Anuswar will stage two shows of its play ‘Jadukar’ tomorrow at 5:00pm and 7:30pm at the Anuswar Studio at Kakrail in the capital. Another staging will be taking place on Saturday 7:30pm at the same place.

Based on Independence Award-winning poet Syed Shamsul Haque’s novel ‘Khelaram Khele Ja’ the play has been written and directed by Saif Suman. ‘Khelaram Khele Ja’ is one of the most read novels of Syed Shamsul Haque.

Jadukar portrays the romance between Noor and Zerin. The whole drama is carried by the couple’s conversation.

The main character of the play and also the Jadukar, Noor, tells a story about his idea of romantic love, which is strongly based on physical interaction. Noor and Zerin’s heartbreaking separation gives the play a sorrowful end.

The play presents the idea of love from an anthropological point of view.

Anuswar began its journey with the play ‘Anuddharaniya’, which has been written and directed by Mohammad Bari.
