‘Nikhai’ to be staged at BSA today

Theatre troupe Theatre will be staging its 34th production titled ‘Nikhai’ today at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA). The play will start at 7pm.

Directed and written by Gazi Rakayet the play belongs to the romantic genre.

The play portrays how social class creates issue in a relationship as it shows a man’s romantic past in the British colonial period.

The play revolves around a old man who stays at a river port. On a midnight a police inspector and his wife come to the port to cross the river. While waiting for the boat, they start a conversation and gradually that old man opens up to the couple and talks about his tragic love story. The play continues as many twists start to occur as the old man carry on this story.
