Swapnadal receives JFMC award

Internationally acclaimed Bangladeshi theatre troupe Swapnadal has received the prestigious international award titled Japan Foreign Minister’s Commendation 2019 given by the Foreign Minister of Japan.

The award was recently presented to Swapnadal Founder and Editor-in-chief Zahid Repon by the Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ito Naoki on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Kono Taro. Bangladesh’s Minister of State for Cultural Affairs, KM Khalid MP, and renowned drama personality professor Dr Rashid Harun were also present during the recent award-giving ceremony held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

The award certificate states, “Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan extends his deepest regards to Swapnadal in recognition of its distinguished service in promoting mutual understanding between Japan and People’s Republic of Bangladesh, contributing to promoting friendly relations between Japan and other nations.”
