Director Hasan Rezaul’s popular TV drama ‘Ma Baba Bhai Bon’ completed the shooting of its 100th episode on Monday. On the special occasion, the entire team including its makers, artists, and crew celebrated the day by cutting a cake at the shooting set of the drama in the capital’s Uttara Sector 4.
The family drama is based on renowned Indian author Sunil Gangopadhyay’s novel of the same name.
‘Ma Baba Bhai Bon’, which airs on NTV from Sunday to Tuesday at 8.20 pm, was launched in November last year. The 100th episode of the popular TV drama will air on August 29.
The project’s director Hasan Rezaul said, “This is the first time I am directing a drama serial, and it is going to reach its 100th episode. The feeling is indescribable. Last week, I went to Kolkata and talked to the family members of Sunil Gangopadhyay. They have been watching the drama regularly on YouTube and have given me their feedback.”
“As it is a family drama viewers from abroad have been enjoying it very much. A lot of Bangalis abroad have called me and given their positive response,” he added.
The lead character in the TV drama Shahiduzzaman Selim said, “In the current trend of comedy dramas very few TV channels are producing family dramas. ‘Ma Baba Bhai Bon’ is not some cheap comedy. It follows the format of a family-based storyline where comedy, tragedy, love, and hate all come together. Our content creators have made a biasedness that maybe the audience only wants to see comedy content. But if you look at the success of this drama, then you will see that the audience is enjoying this sort of content. So, the biasedness and the resulting flood of comedy content our contemporary directors have created are not accurate. So, when the cast members first read the scripts of this project they realised that it has been a long time since a project like this was produced. So, the entire cast took this challenge to push this serial to the next level. We tried to create a collective performance as each of our cast need to perform well for this drama to succeed. The simplicity of its storytelling and the performance by our cast have been well received by the audience. Moreover, this is based on Sunil Gangopadhyay’s brilliant writing which gave it another edge. I believe if we continue to plan properly and our team keeps performing the way they have been then we can successfully conclude this serial.”
Saberi Alam, another central character in the drama said, “I always believe that audience always connects with the content which they can relate to. Also, ‘Ma Baba Bhai Bon’ is a deviation from the current trend of comedy content. The secret behind its audience success might be the bonding between the entire team. It’s not that we forced it from the beginning. The bonding just happened among us and the audience can see that reflected on screen. Moreover, this drama is based on a novel by a legendary author. I hope that more family-based projects like this get produced as it is the most important part of our lives. How much we get addicted to technology and gadgets in this modern era, but we always get back to our family and family members. We are very with our team efforts. I hope that the audience will pray for our team and hopefully this project ends successfully.’’
