The Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy organised a discussion and cultural event at the National Theater Auditorium in the capital’s Shilpakala Academy on Monday evening. The event, titled ‘Shilper Aaloy Sraddhanjali: Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam and Bangabandhu,’ was a part of the month-long event titled ‘Shok Theke Saoktir Abbhudday, Swapnpuraner Drirhapratyay’ marking the month of mourning.
The event was presided over by Shilpakala Academy director general and renowned stage actor Liaquat Ali Lucky while acclaimed poet, author and Nazrul researcher Majid Mahmud made the opening speech and discussion session.
The opening ceremony began with a flute performance followed by the recital of the popular Nazrul poem ‘Aaj Shrishti Sukher Ullase’ by Ahkam Ullah. The national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were remembered through ensemble music, solo music, children’s ensemble music, choreography, ensemble dance and poetry reading sessions.
Dancers of the Academy performed a classical dance during the ensemble song ‘Amar Kaifiyat’. The dance directed and choreographed by Joydeep Palit was conceived and planned by BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky.
Munalin Azad sang the prayerful solo ‘Ogo Antarjami’ and renowned folk singer Kangalini Sufia performed the solo ‘Bangabandhu’r Gaan’.
The children’s music group of the Academy performed the ensemble children’s song ‘Dao Dhairja, Dao Shairja’ and ‘Moner Rong Legeche’. The music was arranged by Ibn Rajan and planned by Liaquat Ali Lucky.
Bangladesh Academy of Fine Arts performed the choreography titled ‘Hazar Taarer Beena’ choreographed by Farhana Chowdhury Baby.
There was also solo music by various artistes, and collective dance. A poem titled ‘Bangabandhur Kabita’ was recited by poet Aslam Sani.
Tamanna Thithi was the presenter during the event.
