‘Payer Tolay Mati Nai’ receives uncut censor certificate

Bangladeshi independent filmmaker Mohammad Rabby Mridha’s directorial debut ‘Payer Tolay Mati Nai’ (No Ground beneath the Feet) has received uncut clearance from the Bangladesh Film Censor Board (BFCB) on Monday. The film is now expected to release in local theatres soon.

‘Payer Tolay Mati Nai’ has already been showcased in Busan (Korea), Bengaluru, Pune, Sri Lanka, Japan, Nepal, Austria and London and has been screened at 14 prestigious film festivals around the world, including Canada and Australia. The film has also won the Gautam Buddha Award as the Best Feature Film in the International Competition at Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF).

Set in the backdrop of the scathing consequences of climate change, the film is about an impoverished ambulance driver Saiful staggers between two wives while he sets out on a journey of moral decay, murder, deception, and social bashing.

The film features an ensemble cast including the National Film Award-winning actress Deepanwita Martin, Mostafa Monwar, Priyam Archie and a group of other talented artists.
