Curtain drops on BSA’s month-long programme marking Aug 15

The Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s month-long programme titled ‘Shok Theke Shaktir Abbhudday, Swapnpuraner Drirhapratyay,’ commemorating the mournful August concluded with a discussion and cultural event on Wednesday. The programme was inaugurated on August 1.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid was present as the chief guest at the event and the special guest was secretary of the ministry Md Abul Mansur. BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky presided over the event.

The cultural programme began after the discussion segment. Artist Nikhil Chandra Das performed a Poter Gaan titled ‘71 er pot’. Vocalist Agun performed ‘Ekattarer Ma Janani Kothay Tomar Mukti Senar Dol’; Pratik Hasan sang ‘Bangabandhu Maane Shakti Bangabandhu Maane Mukti’; Samarjit Roy ‘Ma Amar Sadh Na Mitilo’; Dinat Jahan Munni ‘Lokkho Lokkho Koti Koti Salam Janai Tomar Proti’; Anupama Mukti sang ‘Shadhinota Bangalir Naam Mujibur Rahman’ and Tania Nahid sang the solo song titled ‘Tumi Chile Bole Tai.’

Two children’s ensemble songs titled ‘E Mati Noy Jongibader’ and ‘Dao Shoujya Dao Dhoirjya’ were performed. Liaquat Ali Lucky conceptualised, wrote and composed the tracks. The academy’s children music team performed in the segment.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Children’s Dance Troupe performed a dance titled ‘Shukno Patar Nupur Paaye’ directed and choreographed by Joydip Palit. The choreography was planned and conceptualised by Liaquat Ali Lucky.

Moreover, the poems ‘Tungipara Graam’ by Kazi Mahtab Suman and Poet Lutfar Rahman’s ‘Amader Khoma Kore Deben Bangabandhu’ was recited by poet Kamal Chowdhury and Aditya Dhar, respectively.
