Oscar Bangladesh Committee calls for film submission

The 95th Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on March 12, 2023. To compete at the 95th Oscars, the Oscar Bangladesh Committee has invited Bangladeshi filmmakers to submit their films by 5 pm on September 15.

Any full-length Bangladeshi film that has English subtitles and has been screened for seven consecutive days in theatres is eligible for the competition. The films also have to be released this year between January 1 and November 30.

Interested filmmakers and producers are requested to collect the submission form, the detailed rules, and guidelines from the offices of Ashirbad Cholochitro at the capital’s 7/9 Eastern Commercial Complex in 73 Kakrail.

Like in previous years, an eight-member committee has been formed to nominate Bangladeshi films in the Best International Feature Film category of the Oscars. ‘A River Called Titash’ producer Habibur Rahman Khan is the chairman of the committee, which is an initiative of the Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will host the 95th Oscars at the Dolby Theatre in California, where the awards will be presented in a total of 24 categories.
