National Film Award-winning actress Purnima has signed up for her next film, ‘Ahare Jibon’. She officially signed the contract for the film on Wednesday.
The government-granted film is going to be directed by Syed Uddin Ahmed, popularly known as Chatku Ahmed. He also wrote the screenplay for the film.
Purnima will be seen playing the role of ‘Dola’ in this new film.
“Chatku Ahmed is a talented director. After a long break, he is directing a film, and he chose me to act in the role of Dola. Apart from that, the other cast members of the film are also favourites of his. Not only the cast but also the story of the film is amazing. The most important fact about the film is, that it is going to be funded by the government. After taking all the factors into consideration, I decided to go ahead with the project. I signed up for the film on Wednesday. I believe it will be a good one,” said Purnima.
The film received 60,000,00 taka funding from the government.
The shooting of the film will start in October this year, and the production will take place near different regions of the capital.
Apart from this, Purnima’s two upcoming films ‘Gaangchil’ and ‘Jam,’ directed by Noim Imtiaz Neyamul, are expected to release soon.
Dilara Hanif Rita, commonly known by her stage name Purnima, won the National Film Award in 2010 as best actress for the film ‘Ora Amake Bhalo Hote Dilo Na’, directed by Kazi Hayat.
Purnima made her film debut with ‘E Jibon Tomar Amar’ in 1998. Her notable performance includes ‘Megher Por Megh’ based on the liberation war and directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam. Purnima acted in ‘Shuva’, a story based on Rabindranath Tagore’s short story ‘Shuvashini’.
The actress has tied the knot for the second time with Ashfakur Rahman Robin on May 27 this year.
Purnima got married to Ahmed Jamal Fahad on November 4, 2007.
The couple got divorced 3 years ago. They share a daughter, who was born in 2014.
