Jagoroni Theatre is going to stage the 39th show of its 15th production titled ‘Rajar Chithi’ today at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Segun Bagicha in the capital.
Scripted by Mahfuza Hilali, Debashish Ghosh has directed the play. The play has been made based on a letter of Rabindranath Tagore. The play depicts the story of Partition of India and Haridas Basak love to the motherland and Rabindranath.
In 1993 a young boy of Shajatpur named Shri Haridas Basak wrote a letter to Rabindranth Tagore. Seeing that, the villagers the villagers mocked him. But, Rabindranth replied to his letter, that time the villagers started to respect him. He then devoted himself to cultural activities. At the time of 1947, while many of Indian left the country, Haridas Basak did not change his residence.
The cast of the play includes, Soron Saha, Mahmuda Yasmin Sumi, Sweety Chowdhury, Shanaz Sharmin Khan Shimu, Baharul Islam Bahar, Rafiqul Islam Rony, Mahmudul Hasan Mukul, Sajib Ghosh and others.
Thandu Raihan has designed the light while choreography has been done Aniket Paal. Enam Tara Saki has done the costume design while Ramij Raju has directed background music.
