Kolpona to direct two teledramas

National Film Award-winning Bangladeshi actress, writer and director Khaleda Aktar Kolpona will be making two dramas titled ‘Premik Bikewala’ and ‘Call Girl’.

Kolpona scripted both the dramas and she will be acting in the dramas too.

“While acting in films and dramas, I noticed a lot of mistakes that prompted me to think about writing and later started to write. When I was young, I had a dream to become a writer,” said Kolpona.

“I remember Atiqul Haque once called me to Ekushey Television and told me that my dialogue writing skill is amazing. Hearing such words from him, I felt like I received an award. I still have a lot of dramas and telefilms which I wrote earlier. I want to give those stories to good producers and directors. I want my stories to reach the audience,” she added.

The dramas will cast Shiuli Shila, Amir Parvez, Banasree and others.

A teacher by profession, Kolpona later switched to the entertainment industry in 1984 through a programme called, “Notun Mukher Sondhane’ (Search for new face). She debuted on the silver screen with Motin Rahman’s film ‘Radha Krishno’.

Kolpona acted in more than 500 films till now and still continued to act.

Kolpona won the Bangladesh National Film Award for her role in the film ‘Jiner Badsha’.
