Hoichoi announces new seasons of Bangladeshi series

Popular Indian OTT platform Hoichoi completed its five-year anniversary on Monday and announced its sixth season of operation from its verified Facebook fan page. Along with various West Bengal-based web series and films, they have also announced the second season of Bangladeshi the Bangladeshi web series ‘Karagar,’ ‘Mohanagar,’ and ‘Kaiser.’

Hoichoi announced the second season of the hyped thriller series will be released in December. Exact release dates will also be announced very soon, according to their recent press statements.

The first season of ‘Karagar’ created a massive buzz on social media. The web series, starring Chanchal as a mysterious prisoner, is helmed by ‘Taqdeer’ famed director Syed Ahmed Shawki. A review of the seven-episode-long show published in the Times of India dubbed it “the best Bengali series till date”.

The series revolves around Akashnagar Central Jail with 325 prisoners. However, one morning they found an extra prisoner (Chanchal Chowdhury) in a cell of a jail that has not been opened for almost 50 years. Though the prisoner can’t talk but understands sign language. He claimed to be a prisoner of that cell and was imprisoned for 250 years. He also claims that he killed Mir Zafar.

The web series also casts Tasnia Farin, Intekhab Dinar, FS Nayeem, Afzal Hossain, Jayanta Chattopadhyay and many others. Moreover, Ashfaq Nipun’s ‘Mohanagar’ starring Mosharaf Karim and Tanim Noor’s ‘Kaiser’ featuring Afran Nisho will also get their second season on Hoichoi very soon.
