Bangladesh Television (BTV) has produced 3 songs marking the 75th birthday of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on September 28. The state-owned television network is set to air these songs on her birthday.

Renowned lyricist Hirendranath Mridha wrote the first song ‘Shubho Jonmodin Desh Netri Sheikh Hasina, Salam Salm Hajar Salam Tomay’ (Happy birthday to the country’s leader Sheikh Hasina, A thousand salutes to you). Popular musician Fuad Naser Babu has composed the music for the song while Rashed, Yusuf, Shwaralipi, and Pushpita have given their voice to this song.

Matiur Rahman wrote the song ‘Sheikh Hasinar Jonmodine Gao Re Poran Bhore Gao, Emon Ekjon Netar Kotha Bishwa Ke Janiye Dao’ (Sing your hearts out on Sheikh Hasina’s birthday, Let the world know about such a great leader). Anupama Mukti and Sabbir Zaman sang the track.

Milton Khandakar wrote another track titled ‘Ei Desh Ei Mati Jaane’ (This country and its soil know). The track was voiced by Putul, Pulok, Rajib and Liza. ‘Sheikh Hasinar Jonmodine Gao Re Poran Bhore Gao’ and ‘Ei Desh Ei Mati Jaane’ was also composed by Fuad Naser Babu.

‘Shubho Jonmodin Desh Netri Sheikh Hasina, Salam Salm Hajar Salam Tomay’ singer Milton Khandaker said, “It is my absolute privilege to have the opportunity to sing about our national leader honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The lyrics and tunes are all so emotional and the song is so wonderful that I was thrilled while recording the song. I rarely sang such beautiful songs in my career.”

Sheikh Hasina was born on 28 September 1947 to the Bengali Muslim Sheikh family of Gopalganj district’s Tungipara village in the East Bengal (now Bangladesh). Her father was Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father and the first President of Bangladesh.
