‘Champabati’ to be staged today

Theatre troupe Shobdo Natyacharcha Kendra will be staging their 23rd production ‘Champabati’ today at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) at 7pm in the capital.

Syed Shamsul Haque adapted the play ‘Champabati’ in lyrical drama from literary classic poet Jasimuddin’s ‘Beder Meye’.

The production has been directed by Khorshedul Alam. Irin Parvin Lopa designed the costumes for the play while stage lighting has been designed by Thandu Raihan. The background music and song were composed by Shishir Rahaman.

The story of the play revolves around, Champabati, a snake charmer who sacrifices her life for her lover.
