Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan has announced that he will star in an upcoming film directed by ‘Poran’ famed filmmaker Raihan Rafi. This will be the first collaboration between them. Both of them announced it from their verified Facebook profiles yesterday. The name and plot of the film are still under wrap.
This will mark Raihan Rafi’s second major project with Shakib’s production company SK Films after ‘Damal’. The film will be jointly produced by OTP Khan and Moniruzzaman.
Raihan Rafi said, “Yes, finally I’m going to make a film with Shakib Khan. I can’t disclose anything about the film yet but one thing I can say for sure is that it will be a totally different one. The audience will see Shakib in a completely new type of role which he never played before. The film will be a new genre for Shakib too”.
“However, who will be acting opposite of Shakib is yet to be decided and I can’t say about it right now,” he added.
The director is currently busy with the promotional campaigns for his upcoming hyped film ‘Damal’, starring Sariful Razz, Bidya Sinha Saha Mim and Siam Ahmed. The second song of the film will be released soon.
“Our whole team is very busy with the promotional campaigns for ‘Damal’. I am really hopeful about the success of the film. I think ‘Damal’ will be able to create more hype than ‘Poran’,” said the director.
‘Damal’ is slated to hit theatres on October 28. Also, Rafi’s next film ‘Nur,’ which stars Arifin Shuvoo in the lead role, recently wrapped its shoot. Media industry insiders are already saying that it will be a comeback film for Shuvoo after receiving major backlash for his performance in the ‘Mujib’ trailer.
On the other hand, after a ten-month hiatus, Dhallywood film star Shakib Khan returned in front of the camera by shooting a commercial alongside Nusraat Faria. After making headlines by revealing that he has a two-and-a-half-year-old son named Shehzad Khan Bir with Dhallywood actress Shobnom Bubly, Shakib joined her in the shoot of ‘Leader, Ami E Bangladesh’ on October 1 at the capital’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel.
However, when asked about the ongoing controversies about Shakib, Rafi denied making any comment on that.
