Bangladeshi artistes along with Spanish guitarist Miguel Trapaga delighted music lovers of Dhaka presenting songs, instrumental and dance recitals at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) at Segun Bagicha in the capital on Monday.
Spanish embassy in Dhaka and the BSA jointly organised the event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Spain at the academy’s National Theatre Hall.
Spanish ambassador to Bangladesh Francisco de Asis Benitez Salas and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy director general Liaquat Ali Lucky, among others, were present at the event.
Spanish guitarist Miguel Trapaga played popular Spanish and European compositions on guitar at the event, while BSA orchestra team presented an instrumental recital titled Love under the direction of Ustad Moniruzzaman. Artistes of Dhaka Sangskritik Dal rendered a group song ‘Joy Satyer o Joy’ written by Enamul Haque and composed by Altaf Mahmud, at the event. They also covered the popular Spanish song Guantanamera.
The event came to end with a group dance ‘Shubhechhchha Bhalobasha’ directed by Liaquat Ali Lucky and choreographed by Santa Shahrin.
Miguel Trapaga was born in Cantabria in Spain in 1967 and studied at the Ataulfo Argenta Conservatory and the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid with Javier Canduela and Demetrio Ballesteros.
